What is a superset?
A superset (or superset) is when you choose two exercises and do them back to back, without any rest between each one.
They can be exercises for the same muscle or for two different muscles.
Example 1
Superseries
Chest press with dumbbells – 5 sets x 8 repetitions
Openings – 5 sets x 8 repetitions
In this case, you would start by doing 8 repetitions of chest presses with dumbbells and, as soon as you finished those 8 repetitions, you would immediately move on to the splits and do 8 repetitions of this exercise.
Only at the end of the openings would you have a rest period.
In this case it would be a superset for the same muscle, chest.
Example 2
Superseries
Tricep with barbell to forehead – 3 sets x 10 repetitions
Bicep curl with bar – 3 sets x 10 repetitions
In this example, you would start with the tricep exercise with a bar on your forehead, perform 10 repetitions and, at the end of these 10 repetitions of triceps with a bar on your forehead, you would immediately move on to the bicep curl exercise with a bar, without rest.
Only when finishing the bicep curl would a series of this superset be complete and a short rest period begin.
In this case it would be a superset for two different and antagonistic muscles, triceps and biceps.
