Gold Nutrition Creatine Power Mix – Analysis

Analysis of the Gold Nutrition Creatine Power Mix supplement

Creatine Power Mix is a supplement from the Gold Nutrition brand, and as the name suggests, it belongs to the Creatine category, although it is not just Creatine.

This formula is made up of several ingredients, but the two main ones are Creatine and Dextrose.

It is available in two flavors, Mango-Orange and Lime, in a 1kg format.

Each dose of this supplement corresponds to 50g and we will analyze the ingredients present in this product.

To consult the official nutritional table click here, regarding the ingredients and method of intake recommended by Gold Nutrition, are here.

So let's start the analysis of Creatine Power Mix.

Creatine and Dextrose

Creatine and Dextrose are the main ingredients of this formula, so let's start by talking about this duo.

Dextrose is a source of simple carbohydrates with a high glycemic index, and is the most abundant ingredient in this supplement.

For each 50g dose you will ingest practically 40g of this sugar, and in fact, 80% of this supplement is made up of Dextrose.

This will help with the absorption of Creatine, and is especially useful in the initial phase, when reserves are still low.

Furthermore, after very intense training, it will help to replenish used glycogen.

The problem is that apart from post-workout in which dextrose he can be useful in certain cases, it is not useful in any other situation.

As for Creatine, it is present in a dose of 4g per shake, and only Creapure Creatine Monohydrate is used.

This is good, since Creapure Creatine Monohydrate is considered the most effective and safe on the market, and therefore, this Creatine supplement is well served.

Other Ingredients

Considering that 88% of Creatine Power Mix is Creatine and Dextrose, there is little room left for other ingredients.

This supplement uses a few more, in small quantities in its formula, the main ones being Taurine, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Chromium.

Taurine is an amino acid, which, although it may have a slight positive effect on performance, is unlikely to be noticeable, but is present in a reasonable dose.

As for Alpha Lipoic Acid, according to this study, helps with the absorption of Creatine, but not at the dose used in Creatine Power Mix, as the same study used a dose of 1g to obtain this effect.

Creatine Power Mix is 100mg per dose.

Chromium is a mineral with an important role in insulin levels, and if your levels of this mineral are not ideal, it may be useful, otherwise it will not have much influence. It is however an interesting addition.

Finally, more minerals.

Small doses of Sodium, Potassium, Chloride and Magnesium.

It may be useful in more intense training, where there is a lot of sweating, although the dose is low.

How to take?

Gold Nutrition recommends taking 4 doses of this supplement per day for 5 days, then switching to just one daily dose 30 to 40 minutes before training.

This is undoubtedly a strange recommendation, especially the shake 40 minutes before training.

Firstly, if you follow the brand's instructions and use 4 doses per day, you will definitely get results, the problem is that you will ingest 160g of sugar for 5 days.

Then, taking into account that the source of carbohydrates in Creatine Power Mix is Dextrose, and it is present in a dose of 40g per shake, if you make this shake 40 minutes before training, you may have a problem.

Lack of energy.

Dextrose is the type of sugar that quickly provides energy, but is also known for a very significant drop after a short time, which can lead to a drop in energy precisely when you need it most.

During training.

Taking into account the composition of this supplement, our recommendation is that you only take it once a day, after training.

However, Creatine supplementation should be done every day, and unless you train every day, or at least five times a week, you will need a dose of this supplement on non-training days.

Assessment

Like all brands, Gold Nutrition has good and bad supplements.

A Creatine in capsules This brand belongs to the first group, while Creatine Power Mix belongs to the second.

You will notice results, especially if you follow the brand's instructions exactly, with 160g of sugar in the first five days.

However, these will probably not be ideal results.

This supplement is very similar to Cell Tech by Muscletech, but a little lower in quality.

As we mentioned in the Cell Tech analysis, it makes sense to combine simple carbohydrates with Creatine, especially after training, but they should also be accompanied by a good dose of whey protein.

If Creatine Power Mix had a good dose of Whey, it would probably be an interesting supplement to use after training.

The price for each shake is approximately 0.76?, which is obviously an exaggeration considering the composition.

Not recommended.
