Forced repetitions

What are forced repetitions?

Forced repetitions, or forced reps, is a technique that will allow you to do a few more repetitions that you alone couldn't do.

With forced repetitions, you're going to need a training partner to help you.

Basically you'll do as many repetitions as you can on your own, and when you get close to the failure, your training partner gives you a little help with the movement to get another 2 or 3 repetitions.

Example

Forced repetitions

You put 100kg on the supine and do five repetitions on your own, however, you're already practically on edge and you don't know if you'll be able to do the sixth repetition.

Your training partner taps the climbing bar so you can do that extra replay and possibly one more.
